Student Engagement

The Institute for Politics and Global Affairs (IOPGA) is committed to offering Cornell students experiential opportunities to engage in activities that bolster their academic programs and career interests.

Undergraduate Scholars Program

Do you have a passion for politics and a desire to engage today’s most pressing policy challenges—from climate change, to racial and socioeconomic inequality, to emergent global health? Consider applying for the inaugural class of the Institute of Politics and Global Affairs’ Undergraduate Scholars Program!

As an Undergraduate Scholar, you will:

• Enjoy unique opportunities to interact with invited guest speakers at IOPGA events.

• Meet monthly as a cohort with other institute members including Director Rep. Steve Israel and our Faculty Fellows from across campus, to discuss significant political and policy developments, and how they relate to Cornell research.

• Interact with special guests from government, academia, and the private sector to gain new insight into the day’s top issues and explore new career paths.

The application for academic year 2020-2021 closed on September 20, 2020.
